Completely agree, Helen looks much better in classy ensembles like this. So sick of seeing her in Nicolas Ghesquiere's trashy Louis Vuitton looks all the time. She's been very loyal to the brand over the last year but hopefully her turning up at Balmain means we might see her in more of Sami's designs again.
She's really trying hard to lose that winsome folk singer image, isn't she?
MTE. She used to wear a lot of very feminine Miu Miu and Valentino pieces but I get the distinct impression that she's trying to steer her image towards something more edgy and sexy. Everything's been short, black, leather and cleavage-heavy lately.
this tacky iggy azalea white girl thing she's doing is making me uncomfortable. i thought she was an indie artist? is she planning to put out a bad hip hop album?

She spoke fairly openly on Laura Marling's "Reversal Of The Muse" podcast about being dressed to fit the niche way her music was being marketed and how uncomfortable it made her. So maybe this is just Helen being able to assert her own taste. In which case her taste is terrible, but all the power to her.
i think it's the opposite. she seems much more happy lately and the fact that she has the confidence to carry off these kinds of outfits, whether you like them or not, isn't something i would have expected of her a year ago.
she might have looked ethereal floating around dressed like ophelia readying herself to drown but i'm not going to mourn a sartorial era in which someone was clearly miserable. her look at balmain is proof that she can still do elegant when the occasion calls for it, but the other outfits are fun!
