They're nominated for a whopping four BRIT Awards this year, but Krishna Deshpande of London three-piece Figure Nine has gained as much attention recently for his dramatic personal life as he has for the band's addictive dance pop hits. Concerns about the 23 year old have been rife since November, when he staged a public meltdown after spotting rumoured former lover Wylie Lawson in an upscale Milan restaurant. Video footage filmed by a fellow patron captured the drunken tirade, which ended with Krishna's forcible removal from the premises.

Now, Deshpande's hard partying antics have seen him confronted by longtime flatmate Helen Blackburn, otherwise known as indie songstress Blackbird. The two had a fairly close friendship until Desphande’s unstable lifestyle became too much for the quiet folk singer, who has asked him to move out immediately.

Blackburn, whose debut album We Slept At Last received critical praise last year, even made a cameo in Figure Nine's video clip for Take Shelter, dancing alongside the band in a woodland clearing.

It's speculated that the former friends, who have shared a flat in trendy Hackney since 2013, have had a strained relationship for a number of months.

"She couldn't wait to get rid of him," a source revealed. "Their living situation has been uncomfortable for a long time."

It's unsure whether it's a coincidence that at record label Dirty Hit's end of year party in December, 25 year old Blackburn was seen leaving Shoreditch House in tears. While the cause the emotional display remains unknown, she appeared to be in genuine distress, clutching at a friend's shirt and sobbing openly as she was shepherded into a taxi. Her social media accounts also briefly went into radio silence around this time.

Helen appeared in good spirits on Saturday night however, joining best friend Claude Amick in an appearance at Lievsay's second sold out show at the O2 Brixton Academy. The trio performed a high energy cover of The Chain by Fleetwood Mac and Helen returned with Lievsay during the encore for a scorching rendition of the song that rocketed him towards fame, Take Me To Church.
